Museum Ludwig

Campaign, catalogue and exhibition design for LUDWIG GOES POP at Museum Ludwig in collaboration with Michael Pichler.

LUDWIG GOES POP – Museum Ludwig dedicates a large scale exhibition to it’s founder and unites 150 key works from one of the internationally most significant collections of American Pop-Art for the first time.

Brief: Creation of a versatile visual identity that communicates the distinct profile of the exhibition, activating a target group beyond the well versed regulars by leveraging the mainstream appeal of Pop Art; design of campaign, exhibition architecture and catalogue.

Idea/solution: In a reverse engineering process, the extraction of significant components of Pop Art leads to a specific design kit consisting of shapes, colors, patterns, text fragments, and behaviors. This serves as the base for the development of a unique visual meta-language, which enables sophisticated designs for a broad range of applications – always accessible and playful and popular in the truest sense of the word. Sweet dreams, baby!
